GG Allin & The Murder Junkies — Live @ The Gas Station — New York City, NY (June 27, 1993)

  • Infamously, this was GG Allin’s last performance. He died later that night (early in the morning of the 28th) in what’d be ruled an accidental overdose (Heroin).
  • After the Gas Station was closed down, GG and his fans spilled out onto the street, attracting unwanted attention, an approximate half-hour is captured on film before GG hails a cab.
  • Photographs of the night GG died were taken of him and his then girlfriend, Liz Mankowski, in the apartment. These are considered the last images of GG alive.
  • Four days earlier, GG Allin appeared on the nationally-syndicated afternoon talk-show, Jane Whitney. This was hyped up through promotion, and often referenced as the last GG Allin interview. The last broadcast interview with GG Allin (and the Murder Junkies) was on WYNU radio, and was hosted by Evan Cohen — the band was promoting the Gas Station gig for the Sunday afternoon.
  • The funeral procession took place on July 3, 1993 — it was requested that GG Allin’s corpse was to be unwashed, left as-is. Of course he was embalmed.
